I’m Amy Chapman Braun, Owner of Brauncreative and a photographer, artist and creative director/designer based in Raleigh, NC.

Early leadership roles within advertising agencies and my work as a nature photographer taught me the critical importance of creative typography, attention to details, and the use of beautiful imagery, to ensure that every design is intentional and purposeful. I strive to deliver work that is clean, approachable and timeless.

In my current role as Creative Director of Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment, I am relied upon to deliver engaging images and design concepts that are both on brand and motivate consumers to respond to a client’s message.

I believe that good work is the product of strong relationships with my clients, translating a deep appreciation of purpose and desired outcomes into a memorable expression of text, art and color. I have had the great fortune to work with these clients: Coastal Living Magazine, Singh Investors (Key West Resorts), Architectural Digest, the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, Amazing Interior Designers, Pearson Furniture, Maine Cottage, SAS, The Umstead Hotel and Spa, and the John Mayer Concert Tour Artisan Program.

I have worked with Amy for well over a decade while at Duke. She’s a true artist as well as designer. Her work is consistently modern and clean, and well thought-out. I am always impressed by it. In addition to that, she is a joy to work with. She is conscientious, tireless, and dedicated to delivering a great product for the client. A great employee and a terrific artist. I can speak for her character. Her portfolio speaks for itself.

One of the reasons that I love working with Amy is that she really listens to us. As we explain what we are trying to accomplish, she extracts concepts that articulate our vision in ways that we hadn’t even imagined. The depth of her creativity is one of her best assets – Amy excels in multiple design platforms and she is very easy to work with which makes my life easier!

I have known Amy professionally for over 20 years. She is consistently pleasant, tackling all assignments with dedication and a smile. Besides being a stand out in the design industry, Amy is a take-charge person who presents creative ideas with passion and the benefits with confidence. She is constantly looking at the latest in printing technology and also in media to have the greatest ROI on her campaign designs.

I have had the tremendous pleasure of getting to know Amy Chapman Braun professionally and personally in the years since our hotel opened in 2007. Prints of her beautiful batik artwork grace our halls, and her stunning nature photography is featured in our Gift Shop, where I am the Buyer. What strikes me about Amy is her constant striving to create and explore her own artistic ideas. She has continued to challenge herself over the years with new materials, subject matter, and business opportunities. She is extremely personable, kind, and down-to-earth, as well, making her delightful to work with. I would highly recommend Amy for whatever she desires to do next, as I am certain she will be successful!
